Our process
After our first meeting, the next step in launching a project is to begin pre-construction activities. Our pre-construction services offer real and insightful cost information based on a defined scope of work. This is presented in a detailed line item format known as a Schedule Of Values (SOV) which can be used to determine if your project’s cost aligns with your financial expectations. We can build your project for the cost we provide or, alternatively, you may choose to send the project out to bid and use our SOV to evaluate the thoroughness and accuracy of those bids. Our accounting process usually takes 2 to 4 weeks. Our pre-construction fee varies with the size and complexity of your project. If we build your project, your pre-construction fee will be refunded.
Pre-construction Activities
- Coordinate and Meet with Project professionals and Trades: Review program and plans in the field with Kramer’s tradesmen and owner’s entities regarding value engineering, constructibility and cost.
- Cost Accounting: Establish a Schedule Of Values based on a defined scope of work.
- Constructibility Review: Evaluate constructibility with regard to cost, effort and durability. Recommend alternate means, methods and details if needed.
- Value Engineering: Provide value engineering input by evaluating construction means and methods and details that are required for construction. Analyze design options and make recommendations for alternatives.
- Site Logistics Review: Establish access, staging areas, restrictions, utilities and protection measures.
